In a devastating series of attacks overnight, Russian missiles and drones have killed at least seven individuals across Ukraine, with five of those fatalities reported in the central city of Dnipro, where an apartment building was struck. The Ukrainian President, Volodymyr Zelensky, stated that the assault lasted 'practically all night,' and rescue workers were still searching for survivors among the rubble in Dnipro on Saturday morning.

The British military took precautionary measures as British jets were scrambled from Romania in response to the heavy attacks near the border, although the UK Ministry of Defence later denied claims that any Russian drones had been shot down. In a notable counter-response, Ukraine conducted some of its longest-distance drone strikes deep into Russian territory, with reports of injuries in Yekaterinburg when a building was struck and drone incidents reported in Chelyabinsk.

Other impacted cities include Chernihiv, where two more casualties were recorded, as well as Odesa and Kharkiv, amid the largest wave of assaults in several days. President Zelensky emphasized the persistent strategy of Russian forces, stating the use of striking drones and ballistic missiles primarily targets urban infrastructure, including residential neighborhoods.

Despite the assaults, Ukrainian authorities successfully intercepted a significant amount of incoming Russian drones, claiming to have repelled the majority of the more than 600 drones launched. Russia's Ministry of Defence reported having shot down 127 drones across various regions as tensions remain high with the ongoing conflict showing no signs of resolution.

Meanwhile, discussions for military cooperation continue as Ukraine's effort to build international support persists, notably through recent talks between Zelensky and Saudi Arabia's Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. They addressed strengthening air defense collaboration and joint military production amidst heightened interest in Ukraine's capabilities following regional conflicts involving drone technology.
