Donald Trump has declared that he communicated to Iran the need to adhere to two primary conditions to avert military confrontation as U.S. forces position themselves in the Gulf region.
Number one, no nuclear. And number two, stop killing protesters, declared Trump, emphasizing the seriousness of Iran's actions against demonstrators. He mentioned that a considerable arsenal is currently approaching Iran and stated, it would be great if we didn't have to use them.
These comments come amid ongoing international pressure for Iran to reach an agreement regarding its nuclear program, followed by stern warnings from Trump about the United States' military readiness.
Iran's Foreign Minister, Abbas Araghchi, responded by asserting the nation's preparedness to fiercely retaliate against any American military action. He called upon the U.S. for negotiation under fair conditions, claiming that their nuclear ambitions are aligned with peaceful intents.
In a working context of escalating tensions, Trump also mentioned that he had hoped for a peaceful negotiation, but warned of a massive armada heading to Iran, ready to fulfill its mission if deemed necessary. Meanwhile, Iranian authorities announced a significant number of fatalities in the protests, underscoring the internal turmoil among the Iranian populace.
The ongoing unrest in Iran has already led to the deaths of thousands since late December, showcasing a serious humanitarian crisis which the international community continues to monitor with growing concern.
As the situation develops, both sides are urged to consider diplomatic routes to address the evolving challenges in the region.
