At least three people have died and 15 have been injured in an explosion at a restaurant in Moscow, police say.
The blast occurred around 20:00 local time on Kudrinskaya square near the city centre. While the exact cause remains unclear, the Baza Telegram channel indicated it started in the establishment’s kitchen.
A witness reported the restaurant was hosting a wedding reception for about 50 people and that attendees were seen being removed covered in blood after the explosion.
Roads around the square were briefly closed and a planned evening cycling event in the area was cancelled. Video from Russia’s RIA news shows heavily armed law enforcement officers at the scene, which has been fenced off to the public.
