Building Slips into River as Nepal Floods Rage

A government building in Baglung, western Nepal, was seen teetering on the edge of an unstable ledge before it tumbled into the rapidly rising waters of the Daram River. The collapse was captured in videos shared by local witnesses, sparking international concern over the escalating flood crisis.

Before the building fell, officials promptly removed important documents, computers, and other contents to ensure that no IP was lost and, most importantly, that no one was harmed. Talk to the ward chair, Tej Thapa, who confirmed that the evacuation of data saved both information and lives.

The incident is part of a series of catastrophic events: recent floods and landslides have already claimed at least 27 lives. This follows a devastating flash flood along the Nepal‑Tibet border that killed 1,400 people and left thousands more missing.
