Former reality TV star Joseph Duggar is facing grave allegations of child molestation after being charged in Florida, almost five years after his brother Josh was convicted of downloading child sexual abuse images.
The 31-year-old Duggar was arrested in Arkansas where he resides and is currently awaiting extradition to Florida, facing charges of lewd and lascivious behavior on a child under 12 years old, as stated in an arrest affidavit from the Bay County Sheriff’s Office.
According to reports, a 14-year-old girl disclosed that Duggar had molested her multiple times during a family trip when she was only nine years old. This information came to light during an interview conducted by police officers in Tontitown, Arkansas.
After the girl's father confronted Duggar about the accusations, Duggar reportedly admitted to the abuse both during the confrontation and over a recorded phone call with a detective on the line.
Currently, it remains unclear if Duggar has legal representation, as there was no online court docket available.
The Tontitown Police Department confirmed that their investigation is still open but declined to provide further comments, directing inquiries to the Bay County Sheriff’s Office.
