In brief

The Dubai‑based event concluded on 7 November 2026, drawing industry leaders to exhibit technologies that enhance productivity, resource use and product quality. Mark Napier of inD praised the show’s commercial engagement and Dubai’s role in supporting global food systems amid uncertainty. The next edition will move to Expo City Dubai for 1‑3 November 2027.

The 12th edition of Gulfood Manufacturing ended on Saturday, November 7, 2026, at the Dubai World Trade Centre, where advanced production technologies were showcased as a key tool for reinforcing global food security. The event, part of a broader cluster of four co‑located exhibitions, brought together the entire food production, retail and hospitality value chain—from ingredients and processing to packaging and automation.

Mark Napier, Vice President of inD, highlighted the exhibition’s impact on the industry:

Gulfood Manufacturing 2026 has demonstrated the continued strength of the global food manufacturing industry, with exceptional international attendance and an outstanding calibre of buyers. What has been particularly encouraging is the level of serious commercial engagement on the show floor, with decision‑makers exploring new production lines, evaluating major equipment investments and progressing real business opportunities.
Napier added that “strong international participation reflected Dubai’s resilience and its ability to support global business amid economic and geopolitical uncertainty. Food security depends on reliable production, processing and transportation, as well as an integrated network of factories, equipment, ingredients and logistics services.”

The exhibition’s displays focused on technologies that improve productivity, keep product quality high, optimise resource consumption, and cut operating costs. Solutions ranged from modular production lines and smart automation to data‑driven monitoring systems that help manufacturers adapt to fluctuating market demands. By presenting these innovations together, the fair illustrated how integrated approaches can make facilities more efficient, future‑ready and resilient.

Industry representatives noted that the fair’s emphasis on resource optimisation—especially water, energy and raw‑material usage—directly supports sustainability goals. Several showcased systems feature closed‑loop processes that minimise waste, while sensor‑based monitoring helps track consumption in real time, allowing manufacturers to fine‑tune operations and reduce environmental footprints.

Decision‑makers in attendance explored a variety of investment opportunities. From high‑speed packaging lines that reduce downtime to advanced processing equipment that extends product shelf life, the solutions on offer promise to strengthen supply chains and reduce the risk of shortages. The fair’s commercial atmosphere enabled buyers to negotiate equipment purchases and discuss long‑term supply contracts, especially with suppliers from emerging markets that can enhance regional resilience.

The event also served as a platform for networking across the entire value chain. By bringing ingredients, processing, packaging, automation and logistics under one roof, participants could identify synergies and streamline collaboration. This holistic approach was praised for addressing the complex challenges facing food security, including climate‑induced supply disruptions and shifting consumer preferences.

Looking ahead, Gulfood Manufacturing will relocate to the Dubai Exhibition Centre at Expo City Dubai for its next edition, scheduled to run from 1 to 3 November 2027. Organisers anticipate that the new venue will accommodate an even larger audience, build on the technological momentum generated in 2026, and continue to highlight innovations that support sustainable, secure food systems.

As the world faces growing environmental pressures, the event’s focus on smart, efficient, and integrated food production technologies underscores a broader industry shift toward sustainability. By investing in automation, closed‑loop processes, and data‑centric operations, manufacturers can reduce their resource footprint while bolstering resilience against climate‑related disruptions. The outcomes from Gulfood Manufacturing 2026 affirm that technology, when paired with global collaboration, can play a decisive role in safeguarding food security for future generations.
