BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - A heart-wrenching incident occurred at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) on Saturday morning, where a football player allegedly stabbed two of his teammates just hours before a crucial game against the University of South Florida. UAB has confirmed that both injured players are currently in stable condition, while the suspect has been taken into custody.

The stabbing incident transpired inside the Football Operations Building on campus, raising immediate concerns regarding student safety and well-being.

Despite the severity of the situation, the UAB football team made a decision to proceed with their scheduled game later that day at Protective Stadium, where they were also honoring 29 players on Senior Day. A spokesperson for the university stated, “UAB’s top priority remains the safety and well-being of all of our students.”

As the investigation unfolds, the university community is taking necessary precautions to ensure that all students feel secure on campus.
