Trump Proposes Postponing Iran Strikes to Secure Rapid Deal

In a post to Truth Social, former President Donald Trump stated that the United States would suspend planned airstrikes on Iran – but only if a swift diplomatic agreement with Tehran is achieved.

The decision was reportedly made in partnership with Israel. Trump remarked that the potential agreement would include the immediate, complete and total opening of the Hormuz Strait and an end to Iran’s nuclear threat.

Tehran has dismissed U.S. actions as an escalation, warning that any country cooperating with Washington could be engulfed by war. Trump said the choice to pause attacks came after being asked by Iran and other Middle Eastern nations to hold off as a chance for a diplomatic solution.

The U.S. government has urged Americans in the region to remain prepared for potential flight cancellations, airspace restrictions, and travel disruptions should tensions flare.
