The nightclub was filled with revelers enjoying the music of a Bollywood DJ when the fire broke out. Among the deceased are four relatives from a family in Delhi and 21 staff members.

In the wake of the disaster, four individuals have been arrested, including the nightclub manager, and a warrant has been issued for the club owner's arrest.

Goa, known for its vibrant nightlife, attracts millions of tourists each year, making this incident particularly shocking. Eyewitnesses described scenes of panic as the fire spread rapidly.

One witness stated, I didn’t initially understand what was going on. Then, it became clear that a massive fire had broken out. The scenes were just horrific. Firefighters faced difficulty reaching the venue due to the narrow bridge leading to the nightclub.

As search and recovery efforts proceed, Goa's chief minister Pramod Sawant reported that three people died from burns while the majority suffered from suffocation. Six other individuals are currently hospitalized in stable condition.

Many of the deceased workers hailed from various Indian states, with one being from Nepal. A nearby chef expressed concern for those he knew who worked at the club, highlighting a tight-knit community of workers in Goa's entertainment venues.

Officials have promised a speedy investigation, with a full report expected within the week. Those found responsible for any negligence will face stringent legal consequences, according to Dr. Sawant.

India's Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his condolences, calling the incident deeply saddening as the country grapples with a history of deadly fires in entertainment venues.

As discussions on improving safety regulations gain momentum, opposition politicians have called for stricter regulations to prevent such tragedies from recurring, particularly as new clubs proliferate across the region.
