Six Killed in Iowa Amid Domestic Shooting Spiral

Police in Muscatine, Iowa, reported that a domestic dispute turned into a series of shootings that killed six people, including the suspect. The victims were believed to be family members of 52‑year‑old Ryan Willis McFarland from Muscatine.

The shootings began after police received a call early Monday afternoon. Officers found four people with gunshot wounds in a residence and, shortly afterward, discovered the suspect with a self‑inflicted gunshot wound on a riverfront trail near a pedestrian bridge.

Authorities later found a fifth victim dead from a gunshot wound at another house, and a sixth death at a metal workshop. All victims were pronounced dead at the scene. Police noted that no names or ages were released and the investigation is ongoing.

Muscatine Police Chief Anthony Kies called the incident an "act of evil" and acknowledged that the suspect had an existing criminal record but provided no further details.

Muscatine sits on the Mississippi River and has about 23,500 residents. Mayor Brad Bark posted: "Our hearts are heavy tonight after the tragic shootings that claimed innocent lives."
