BOSTON – In a disturbing incident over the weekend, two men have been arrested in Massachusetts following an explosion at Harvard Medical School, as confirmed by the FBI’s Boston office on Tuesday. The incident occurred early Saturday on the fourth floor of the Goldenson Building, home to labs and offices connected to the school’s neurobiology department, but fortunately resulted in no injuries.
The explosion led to an immediate response from the Boston Fire Department, which classified the explosion as intentional. During a sweep of the premise, police officials reported that no additional explosive devices were discovered.
Despite the explosion, medical school authorities noted that there was no structural damage and that all laboratory equipment remained intact, allowing for uninterrupted research operations.
On the morning of the explosion, police reported that an officer responding to the ensuing fire alarm witnessed two individuals fleeing the scene. The investigation is still in its early stages, and further details were anticipated at a scheduled news conference.
