US television presenter Savannah Guthrie and her family have appealed to the public to continue to help search for their missing mother, who police believe was abducted seven weeks ago.
We desperately ask this community for renewed attention to our mom's case, the Guthrie family said in a recent statement shared with NBC Tucson affiliate KVOA.
Authorities have been searching for Guthrie's 84-year-old mother, Nancy, since she was reported missing from her Tucson home on February 1.
Footage previously released from outside Nancy Guthrie's home revealed a masked figure, but nearly two months later, police still do not have a suspect.
In their statement, the Guthrie family thanked the Tucson community for its support and made a renewed request for information. We continue to believe it is Tucsonans, and the greater southern Arizona community, that hold the key to finding resolution in this case. Someone knows something, they said.
The family urged the public to review their camera footage, journal notes, and any observations that might seem significant. No detail is too small. It may be the key, they emphasized, expressing their profound longing for their mother.
Since the disappearance, Savannah and her siblings have actively engaged on social media, appealing for information and offering a $1 million reward for leads, in addition to the FBI's $100,000 reward.
A nationwide search has unveiled clues, including DNA evidence and alleged ransom notes, yet no suspect has been identified. According to Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos, investigators believe Nancy was specifically targeted but remain uncertain.
The case highlights the heartache of a family who cannot find peace while their mother is still missing. We miss our mom with every breath and we cannot be in peace until she is home, the family reflected.
