Dominican Republic President Luis Abinader has publicly expressed his sympathies for the grieving families affected by the catastrophe. Juan Manuel Méndez, director of the Emergency Operations Centre (COE), indicated that rescue operations remain ongoing, with teams actively searching through the rubble for survivors. To date, ambulances have transported injured individuals to local hospitals, with 93 trips reported, sometimes carrying more than one patient per journey.
