Ukraine's President, Volodymyr Zelensky, has indicated a hopeful turn in the ongoing peace negotiations with the United States, stating he had a 'very constructive' conversation with Donald Trump's peace envoy, Steve Witkoff, along with Trump’s son-in-law, Jared Kushner.

During discussions, Zelensky highlighted the importance of ensuring any agreement with Russia regarding the ongoing conflict is adhered to. He expressed determination to continue collaborating with the US as they navigate towards a potential peace deal.

Ukrainian officials joined the call from Miami, where they are concluding a third day of talks focused on US-backed efforts to mediate a peace resolution with Russia. However, Moscow's stance appears unyielding, maintaining its aggressive operations with continued bombardments across Ukraine.

In remarks on social media, Zelensky stated: 'Ukraine is determined to keep working in good faith with the American side to genuinely achieve peace.' He further addressed the elements discussed that could contribute to halting the bloodshed and mitigating the threats posed by Russia's full-scale invasion.

In response to the escalating violence, French President Emmanuel Macron declared his support for Ukraine in a recent conversation with Zelensky, echoing calls for de-escalation and advocating for ceasefire initiatives as vital to ending hostilities.

On the upcoming agenda, Zelensky will be joined by Macron, UK Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer, and German Chancellor Friedrich Merz in a London meeting aimed at solidifying a coalition focused on stabilizing Ukraine's security post-conflict.

The leaders are expected to build on previous discussions around establishing a European peacekeeping force to assist in maintaining order should a ceasefire be successful. The coalition seeks to ensure that Ukraine retains the sovereignty to determine its future independently.

Despite these diplomatic efforts, Russian President Vladimir Putin stands firm against the notion of foreign troops within Ukraine, labeling them as 'legitimate targets.' In a recent escalation, Russia has launched coordinated aerial and missile attacks, resulting in significant infrastructure damage and civilian disruptions throughout Ukraine.

The urgency for peace remains paramount as US and Ukrainian officials press Russia to demonstrate a commitment to achieving a long-term resolution. The next steps will hinge upon Moscow's willingness to engage in genuine de-escalation efforts.
