LOS ANGELES (AP) — Michele Singer Reiner, celebrated photographer and producer who had a profound impact on the film industry, has passed away. She was a significant influence behind the scenes, particularly remembered for her role in shaping the ending of the beloved romantic comedy 'When Harry Met Sally…'.

Together with her husband, well-known director Rob Reiner, the couple was found deceased at their Brentwood home in Los Angeles. The Los Angeles Fire Department responded to a medical emergency call around 3:30 p.m. and discovered the couple, aged 78 and 68, respectively. Their son, Nick Reiner, is currently in custody in connection with their deaths.

Reiner and Michele made an indelible mark on cinema, with their shared passion for storytelling leading to meaningful work, including the production of titles such as 'Spinal Tap II: The End Continues' and 'Shock and Awe'. The couple married in 1989 and had three children: Nick, Jake, and Romy. Michele was quoted reminiscing about their first meeting during filming, which ultimately inspired Rob to change the film’s original ending to a happier conclusion.
