Singer Marc Anthony has described the Beckham family rift as 'extremely unfortunate', but added that the way it has played out is 'hardly the truth.'

The 57-year-old performed at Brooklyn and Nicola Peltz Beckham's wedding reception in 2022 and is a close friend of the wider family.

Brooklyn recently expressed discomfort regarding how the couple's first dance was handled at the wedding, stating he felt 'uncomfortable and humiliated' after Anthony reportedly called for him to dance with his mother instead of his wife.

Brooklyn added that his mother then danced 'very inappropriately' with him. Sir David and Lady Beckham have not responded to Brooklyn's statements.

Speaking to the Hollywood Reporter, Anthony stated, I have nothing to say about what's happening with the family. They're a wonderful, wonderful family. I've known them since before the kids were born. I'm godfather to Cruz. I'm really close to the family. But I have nothing to say about what happened there.

He reiterated, It's extremely unfortunate how it's playing out - but [how it's playing out] is hardly the truth.

Brooklyn Beckham confirmed a rift within his family and stated he had no interest in reconciling. He accused his parents of trying to 'ruin my relationship' with Peltz.

The awkward situation surrounding the wedding dance has sparked public interest, illustrating the complexities of high-profile family dynamics in the limelight.
