Online retailers Shein, Temu, AliExpress, and Wish are being investigated in France for allowing minors to access pornographic content on their platforms, as confirmed by the Paris prosecutor's office. The investigation arises after concerns were raised regarding the sale of childlike sex dolls on Shein’s website.

The Paris prosecutor indicated that the companies are under scrutiny for potentially allowing minors to view violent or pornographic materials. The issues were highlighted by France's consumer watchdog, leading to a referral to the prosecutor's office.

Furthermore, Shein and AliExpress are being investigated for disseminating content that includes pornography involving children, with their cases referred to Paris' Office des Mineurs, which protects minors.

In response, Shein announced it has banned the sale of all sex dolls globally and will tighten controls on its platform to prevent illegal sales. The consumer watchdog stated that the descriptions of these sex dolls clearly indicated their child pornography nature.

Shein's investigation comes as the retailer prepares to launch its first permanent outlet in Paris, with protests occurring outside the store ahead of its opening. Shein plans to expand its presence by opening more outlets throughout France, including in cities like Dijon, Reims, and Angers.
