On March 16, 2025, a catastrophic fire erupted in a Kocani nightclub during a pop concert, resulting in the loss of at least 51 lives and injuring around 100 others, according to government spokeswoman Marija Miteva. The incident occurred when celebratory fireworks ignited the club's roof. North Macedonia’s interior minister, Panche Toshkovski, confirmed the tragic circumstances surrounding the event.
