At Least 27 Dead After Overnight Drone Strike Near Kyiv

Twenty‑seven people have been killed by a nighttime drone strike on the Kyiv region, the governor confirmed. The governor also reported a further 42 people, including four children, injured in the same raid on the Bucha district, with 381 people evacuated from the area.

Search and rescue operations were underway early Saturday, as emergency services inspected buildings for damage.

A 14‑year‑old was killed in an independent attack in the Boryspil district, the governor said, calling it “another victim of Russian terror.”

President Volodymyr Zelenský expressed condolences to the families of the victims, noting that more than 300 emergency responders had been dispatched to the strike zone.

Zelenský also reported overnight strikes in Odesa, Dnipropetrovsk, Sumy and Zaporizhzhia, urging the global community to offer additional support and sanctions against Russia.

The Ukrainian army claimed it had downed 233 Russian UAVs overnight.

In recent months, Russia and Ukraine have intensified their attacks, with Kyiv targeting Russian economic targets. In the past 24 hours, Moscow announced strikes on the Belgorod and Rostov regions, where seven people were injured in the Rostov attack.
