Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor told Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell I can't take any more of this when he was first alerted 14 years ago that a British newspaper was about to run a report about the trio.
His email conversation with the pair was among documents from the estate of the convicted sex offender Epstein released recently, which also include notes mentioning Donald Trump.
Andrew's message followed a right-of-reply email sent to Maxwell by the Mail on Sunday in March 2011, containing serious claims about him. His response was, What's all this? I don't know anything about this! You must SAY so please. This has NOTHING to do with me. I can't take any more of this.
The latest release arrives as Andrew faces requests from Democratic lawmakers in the US Congress to answer questions related to the investigation into Epstein, who died in custody in 2019 while awaiting trial for sex trafficking offenses.
Democratic House Oversight Committee member Congressman Suhas Subramanyam noted that Andrew had yet to respond to a committee invitation to testify, adding that it could be done remotely.
Virginia Giuffre, a prominent accuser of Epstein, has alleged that Andrew had sexual relations with her when she was a teenager. Andrew has consistently denied these allegations and reached an out-of-court settlement with Giuffre in 2022 without admitting any liability.
Recent documents also disclose that Lord Mandelson had contact with Epstein as late as 2016, showing the extent of Epstein's connections with various influential figures. While the documents verify Andrew's photograph with Giuffre, they also reveal Epstein's apparent attempts to downplay his connections with Andrew during escalating media scrutiny.
As further inquiries continue regarding the emails involving Trump and other figures, the implications for Andrew's reputation and future dealings in public life remain under scrutiny.
