In a groundbreaking ruling, a federal judge has dictated that Rudy Giuliani must surrender his lavish Manhattan apartment, valued at $6 million, alongside numerous personal belongings to two Georgia election workers, Ruby Freeman and Shaye Moss. This comes on the heels of a successful defamation lawsuit, where the election workers claimed a staggering $140 million in damages after Giuliani falsely accused them of manipulating votes during the 2020 presidential election.
Among the items confiscated are several luxury watches, notable sports memorabilia, and even a signed jersey from baseball legend Joe DiMaggio. The ruling, issued last Tuesday, empowers Freeman and Moss to receive about $2 million, which Giuliani claims is owed to him by Donald Trump’s 2020 campaign.
The court's decision reflects the serious nature of the allegations against Giuliani, who has faced heavy legal repercussions for his actions surrounding the election. Following the trial, he has lost his legal credentials and has been charged with nine felony counts in relation to alleged fraudulent schemes to falsely declare victory for Trump in pivotal states, including Arizona.
Freeman and Moss previously expressed their terror resulting from Giuliani's defamatory remarks, which led to an onslaught of threats and harassment. Having filed for bankruptcy last year after the loss, Giuliani has seen his financial protections dwindle, culminating in a federal judge dismissing his bankruptcy case back in July. This latest development signifies a notable victory for those championing electoral integrity and accountability.
