Eyewitnesses reported a loud boom and smoke billowing from the site of the accident. “I was in the middle of eating a doughnut when I heard a sputtering sound overhead and then a large explosion behind me,” shared Kim Hong-gi, a resident of Pohang, describing his shock at witnessing the incident.
In response to the emergency, local fire officials dispatched two helicopters along with 40 firefighters to manage the blaze ignited by the aircraft’s crash.
