A fire at a perfume warehouse in north-western Turkey has killed six people.
The blaze broke out at 09:05 local time on Saturday in Dilovasi, Kocaeli Province's governorship said. The province's governor Ilhami Aktas told Turkish outlet CNN Turk that five people were hospitalized, with one individual in critical condition receiving treatment in a burns unit.
The fire has since been extinguished, and images from Turkish media show firefighters battling large flames.
Witnesses recounted the harrowing moments as the fire erupted, with one person describing an explosion and the sight of flames consuming the building, accompanied by cries for help.
The exact cause of the fire remains unknown, leading Justice Minister Yilmaz Tunc to launch a judicial investigation, and the labor ministry has also commenced its inquiries.
