Tammy Bruce Nominated as Deputy UN Ambassador by Trump
In a bold move, Trump has nominated former Fox News host Tammy Bruce for the position of US Deputy Ambassador to the United Nations.
In a recent announcement on Truth Social, President Donald Trump revealed his nomination of Tammy Bruce, a current spokeswoman for the State Department and a long-time Fox News contributor, to serve as the United States deputy representative to the United Nations. Trump praised Bruce’s performance since entering the State Department in January, suggesting she has excelled in her duties.
Before her government role, Bruce spent over two decades with Fox News, where she was known for her conservative viewpoints and authored several books critiquing progressive politics, including "Fear Itself: Exposing the Left's Mind-Killing Agenda." Although the timeline for when she might assume her new responsibilities remains unclear, the nomination requires Senate confirmation.
In his announcement, Trump described Bruce as a “Great Patriot” and assured that she would represent American interests brilliantly at the UN. As a State Department spokesperson, Bruce has supported various contentious policies, including the administration's stringent immigration measures and the deployment of private military contractors for humanitarian efforts in Gaza.
Currently, Trump's nominee for UN ambassador, Mike Waltz, is also awaiting Senate approval. The acting ambassador to the UN remains Dorothy Shea, who holds a career diplomat position and previously served as the deputy ambassador in 2024.
