DENVER (AP) — Three teenagers have been hospitalized in critical condition following a shooting at Evergreen High School, located about 30 miles west of Denver. The incident occurred around midday, and all victims are believed to be students, though details about their injuries have not been disclosed by authorities. As of mid-afternoon, all three were either in the emergency room or undergoing surgery at St. Anthony Hospital in Lakewood, Colorado.

Jefferson County Sheriff's Office spokesperson, Jacki Kelley, confirmed that no additional victims have been reported. However, the investigation is still at an early stage, and it remains unclear who the shooter was or how many individuals might have been involved in the incident.

In response to the shooting, over 100 police officers from the Denver area were dispatched to the school to assist in the situation. This agency is familiar with school shootings, having responded to the tragic incident at Columbine High School in 1999, which resulted in the deaths of 14 people. This recent event reignites concerns regarding school safety and gun violence in America.
