TUNIS, Tunisia (Echosphere News) — The Global Sumud Flotilla, an international humanitarian mission seeking to break the Israeli blockade of Gaza, reported a drone attack on one of its boats, the British-flagged ‘Alma’, while docked in Tunisian waters. This marks the second night of assaults against the flotilla, which set sail from Barcelona, Spain, on September 1, carrying a symbolic load of humanitarian aid. Security footage from the recent incident showed crew members in distress, shouting warnings about the incoming fire, as flaming projectiles struck the vessel, leading to a deck fire.

The night before, a similar attack was reported on the Portuguese-flagged ‘Family’ vessel. In response to these incidents, Tunisian authorities stated that they are investigating the attack but denied the involvement of drones in the first incident. Activists on the flotilla have claimed that these repeated attacks are part of a larger strategy to disrupt their mission during what they describe as increased Israeli aggression toward Palestinians. Despite the violence, the activists remain committed to their cause, insisting that the Global Sumud Flotilla will continue its mission undeterred.
