President Trump suggests Fox News veteran will enhance U.S. representation at the United Nations.
President Donald Trump has nominated Tammy Bruce, a former Fox News host and current State Department spokeswoman, to be the U.S. Deputy Representative to the United Nations. This announcement was made via Trump's social media platform, Truth Social, where he praised Bruce for her "fantastic job" at the State Department since his administration began.
With an extensive background as a conservative commentator on Fox News for over two decades, Bruce has built a reputation as a vocal critic of liberal ideologies, contributing several books that attack leftist agendas, including her notable title, "Fear Itself: Exposing the Left's Mind-Killing Agenda."
While the timeline for her confirmation by the Senate remains uncertain, Trump described Bruce in his post on Truth Social as a “Great Patriot” and commended her service in her current role. He anticipated she would represent the U.S. interests at the United Nations “brilliantly.”
In her capacity as spokeswoman, Bruce has tackled contentious U.S. foreign policy issues, endorsing Trump's immigration policies and the deployment of private military contractors in international aid missions. Presently, the nomination for the UN ambassador, Mike Waltz, awaits Senate confirmation while Dorothy Shea continues as the acting ambassador, bringing nearly 20 years of diplomatic experience to the role.
