R&B sensation Chris Brown finds himself in legal trouble as he has been remanded in custody following an appearance in Manchester Magistrates' Court. The 36-year-old singer faces charges related to an alleged bottle attack on music producer Abe Diaw at Tape club in London’s Mayfair district in 2023.
Brown was apprehended at the Lowry Hotel in Salford on Thursday and subsequently charged with grievous bodily harm. The incident reportedly occurred while the singer was in the UK for his anticipated tour scheduled for June and July, including performances in Manchester at Co-Op Live Arena and the Principality Stadium in Cardiff.
During the court hearing, Brown, clad in a black tracksuit, confirmed his identity before District Judge Joanne Hirst, who stated that due to the serious nature of the allegations, the case would be transferred to Southwark Crown Court in London. The next hearing is set for June 13.
