ANC Firmly Declares Finality in Jacob Zuma’s Expulsion Decision**

The ANC's expulsion of Jacob Zuma reflects internal strife as he sought to challenge the party he once led, now distancing itself from his tactics as a means of self-preservation.**

In a decisive move, South Africa's governing party, the African National Congress (ANC), has confirmed the finality of its decision to expel former President Jacob Zuma. This conclusion came after Zuma's attempts to appeal the expulsion and retain his membership within the party.

The ANC severed ties with Zuma in July, branding him a "traitor" after he established and campaigned for a new political entity, attempting to undermine the ANC's long-standing political dominance. As South Africa approaches a critical election date, Zuma's actions during the campaign led to heightened tensions within the party.

Despite his longstanding history with the ANC, which began in his teenage years, Zuma's establishment of a rival party called uMkhonto weSizwe (MK party) and subsequent campaign outlets diminished the ANC's internal unity. After the party rejected Zuma's appeal and his demands for a personal hearing regarding the expulsion, they characterized his behavior as a severe breach of discipline and loyalty.

The ANC's statement clarified their position, indicating they would not tolerate any individual, regardless of past contributions, undermining the integrity of the party. Zuma's storied career includes historical ties with Nelson Mandela and a presidency marred by numerous scandals and corruption allegations. Following a judicial inquiry, Zuma received a sentence of 15 months in prison for contempt of court, leading to a brief period of incarceration before his release on medical grounds.

Zuma has stated his new political journey with the MK party was aimed at reclaiming control of the ANC to challenge current leadership under President Cyril Ramaphosa. Despite Zuma's tumultuous political journey, his persistent popularity remains evident, as his party secured 58 seats in a recent parliamentary election amidst a significant decline in support for the ANC. This signals ongoing political volatility in South Africa as internal party conflicts shape the future of the nation’s governance.
