Born in Leningrad, Shklyarov honed his skills at the illustrious Vaganova Academy of Russian Ballet, graduating in 2003 before joining the Mariinsky Theatre the same year. He ascended to the position of principal dancer in 2011, where he dazzled audiences for over two decades with his performances in classics such as Don Quixote, Swan Lake, and Romeo and Juliet.
