Priyanka Chopra Jonas shared her vision for the new film “The Cycle of Love,” a story that weaves love, migration and caste discrimination into a single narrative.
During a conversation with BBC culture correspondent Noor Nanji, she explained that she was instantly drawn to the true‑story of Indian artist PK Mahanandia, who rode a bicycle for 6,000 miles from India to Europe to reunite with a Swedish woman he loved.
Her film, which follows Mahanandia’s arduous journey, also exposes how caste discrimination in India impeded the artist’s path, bringing an emotional human‑rights lens to an international audience.
The BBC spoke to Chopra Jonas and director Orlando von Einsiedel before the film premiered in New York, signalling the growing focus on culturally resonant cinema that addresses systemic inequality.
