Best-selling author Colleen Hoover has revealed she has been undergoing treatment after being diagnosed with cancer. The US writer, 46, known for 'It Ends With Us' and 'Reminders of Him', stated that she has nearly completed radiotherapy and that her recent surgery was successful.
Hoover initially shared her diagnosis with fans in a private Facebook chat about a month ago, assuring them that the cancer had been removed and declaring, 'I'm okay'.
In her recent Instagram post, which included a selfie in a hospital gown, she conveyed to her followers, 'I'm doing much better. My cancer diagnosis was a while ago but I chose to keep it private until after finding out my surgery was successful.'
Reflecting on her health struggles, she explained she had been facing recurring issues throughout 2025 but postponed seeking medical advice due to filming commitments for 'Reminders of Him' in Canada. Upon returning home, she received her diagnosis, describing her initial reaction as 'huge and scary.'
Hoover, who did not specify the type of cancer, noted that her health challenges may be linked to environmental and lifestyle factors, expressing humor about her struggles with a healthy lifestyle. 'I'm happy and grateful to be alive but I hate vegetables,' she quipped.
Despite her health struggles, she continues to work, having released her latest novel 'Woman Down' this week, and even made an appearance at a bookshop in South Carolina for its midnight release, showcasing her resilience and determination.
'Not because I'm lying about anything, but because I'm a badass,' she stated, underscoring her commitment to her work and her strength amid personal challenges.
