SANTA ANA, Calif. (Echosphere News) — For Disneyland enthusiast Jon Alan Hale, every ride on Radiator Springs Racers is a new adventure. On Monday, he made headlines by completing his 15,000th spin on the popular attraction inspired by the Pixar film 'Cars.' For Hale, a resident of Brea, California, it’s not just about the ride count; it’s about the joy and excitement it brings.
Hale, who has overcome significant health challenges including gastric bypass and knee replacement surgeries in 2010 and 2011, discovered his passion for the ride soon after its debut in 2012. Keeping meticulous records of his rides, Hale notes details like his car color and lane, and whether he wins or loses.
“I fell in love with the ride,” Hale expressed, donning a “Cars” themed cap and carrying a sign celebrating his latest milestone. On this special occasion, he was accompanied by friends who work at the park, recalling the enthusiastic claps he received when he reached his first major milestone of 1,000 rides.
Over the years, he has visited Disneyland more than 1,100 times, averaging nearly 13 spins on every visit thanks to the quick line for single riders. He finds it exhilarating not to know which car will win in any given race.
“You don’t know who is going to win the race,” Hale reflects. “There is no pattern of who wins or loses.”
While there are no formal records for the most rides on the attraction, as confirmed by both Disneyland officials and Guinness World Records, Hale cherishes the camaraderie that has developed throughout his journey.
“It’s like family,” he shares, noting how many park staff recognize him and cheer him on during his visits.
