At Le Prem’s—a modest establishment known for its lottery tickets and tobacco—regular patrons were left momentarily speechless when Macron strolled in unannounced.

The atmosphere was anything but stiff; bar owner Christophe Jacques warmly noted, “He did not come to scratch! He came to chat.”

Jean-Claude Turpault, a local farmer, recounted the surprise: “I turned around and there he was! It challenged my perception of him—he was approachable and easy to talk to,” he noted.
