North Korea has voiced severe criticism of the United States' proposed "Golden Dome" defense initiative, warning that it risks transforming outer space into a battleground for nuclear conflict. The system, intended to counter advanced aerial threats such as ballistic and cruise missiles, is slated for introduction by President Donald Trump before the conclusion of his term.

Pyongyang's response to the initiative denounces it as "self-righteous arrogance," as reported by state media. North Korea's Foreign Ministry asserts that the US is determined to militarize outer space, suggesting that the move may instigate a global nuclear and space arms race.

Experts argue that North Korea perceives the Golden Dome as a direct challenge to its nuclear capabilities. Hong Min, a senior analyst at the Korea Institute for National Unification, remarked that the advanced US missile defense system could significantly diminish the effectiveness of Pyongyang's nuclear arsenal.
