Former US President Joe Biden recently underwent skin cancer surgery, his spokeswoman stated. Biden had Mohs surgery, a procedure employed to excise skin until no cancer remains, although more details were not immediately provided.

The 82-year-old had been seen with a wound on the right side of his head in recent days. In prior instances, Biden had a cancerous skin lesion removed from his chest in 2023 during a routine health check.

Furthermore, in May, he was diagnosed with an aggressive form of prostate cancer that has metastasized to his bones. Cancer touches us all, Biden penned on social media at that time. Like so many of you, Jill and I have learned that we are strongest in the broken places.

Biden has a history of having several non-melanoma skin cancers excised before he became president. Since leaving the White House in January, he has made minimal public appearances and has largely withdrawn from the public eye.

The Bidens have been longstanding advocates for cancer research and treatment, particularly after losing their son, Beau, to brain cancer in 2015.
