Thousands of people have taken part in an anti-femicide protest in Buenos Aires, demanding justice for a girl and two young women who were tortured and murdered in a crime that has shocked Argentina. The brutal killings of 15-year-old Lara Gutierrez, and Morena Verdi and Brenda del Castillo, who were both 20, were livestreamed on social media.

Police suspect that a drug-trafficking gang was responsible for these actions, which were allegedly broadcast as a warning to others. As of Friday, authorities have arrested five suspects, including three men and two women. However, a 20-year-old Peruvian man believed to be the gang's leader remains at large.

Investigators revealed that the victims were lured into a van under the pretense of heading to a party on September 19th, only to be met with horrific violence designed to punish them for violating gang codes.

During police interrogations, one detainee revealed a video showing the gang leader threatening the victims, stating, This is what happens to those who steal drugs from me. The bodies of the three women were discovered buried in a southern Buenos Aires suburb five days after their disappearance.

At a march toward Parliament, family members urged for justice, highlighting the urgent need for the protection of women's rights in Argentina. Brenda's father expressed his anguish, saying he couldn't identify her body due to the abuse she suffered, while another relative described the killers as 'bloodthirsty.' This protest reflects broader concerns, as a femicide monitoring group estimates one woman is killed by a man every 36 hours in Argentina.
